About us
After 5 years of operation, we have come to the hard decision that we can no longer run SAD. We will continue to give what we can to Equines in need, when we can, but it will not be on the same scale as the rescue was. The horses that are unadoptable will remain with us in their forever home. We will honour our commitment to rehome any horses adopted from SAD who can no longer be cared for by their adoptive families. We encourage all current and prospective horse owners to view ownership as a lifelong commitment. The decision to bring any animal into your care should not be taken lightly. We are thankful for the experience, knowledge, skills and friends we have gained from operating SAD, all of which is because of the horses that came into our lives. We will keep this website active for at least the next year as a testament to what 2 people who started out with limited knowledge, a small plot of land and who want to make a difference, can accomplish. Through out the 5 years of operation, not one volunteer or foster home was used. All the work was happily done by the 2 of us. We wouldn't have it any other way, as we feel privileged to be able to do something we love. We want to thank all the great people who gave of themselves over the years, who made 5 years of operation through the worst years the horse market has seen, possible. From the two of us and of course the horses, all our love and gratitude, Andrea and Henry
