Wish list

Upon the decision of starting a horse rescue, we knew we could not do it alone.  To rescue horses on a great degree, we would need help from the public.  Not just donations, but word of mouth awareness so we can place these horses in their forever homes sooner then later.  If you are unable to donate, please tell others at your barn, school, work, home about us and our cause.  Any bit helps!!

Veterinary costs
Since most of our rescues come to us neglected and in desperate need of medical care, Veterinary costs are our biggest obstacle.  But you can help by sending a donation directly to our Veterinarian, so you know that your donation will be helping our rescues on their way to recovery.

Feed
Donations of feed are always needed and appreciated.  Please call the Alliston Feed Service at (705)435-6438 to donate feed.  They accept credit card orders over the phone.

Feed need includes hay, grains, Purina Hi Fat Hi fiber, Corn oil, treats such as apples, carrots, ect.

 

Cash Donations
Any cash donation you can spare will go towards buying more Draft horses bound for slaughter.  We save  draft horses DIRECTLY from the meat ring at the auction, from "meat men" and from feed lots.  The more money we can raise, the more horses we can save, feed and give Veterinary and farrier care to.  We accept Paypal and Interac money transfers for your convenience. If you choose to mail a donation, please send it to 6692 County Rd 10 R.R.  2 Alliston Ontario L9R 1V2 and make cheques payable to Andrea Macaluso.

Building/fencing Materials
We are in need of building and fending materials so we can build more run-in shelters, and fence in more of the property so the horses have more pasture.  Currently we have 3 acres that are cleared and fenced and have 1 run-in shelter and a small barn, we hope to clear and fence in 5 more acres within the next 5 years, and expand our barn so we can accommodate more rescues.  Items in need are.......

Cedar fence posts, rough cut lumber, plywood, hardware, insulation, 4"x 4"'s, 2"x 4"'s, sheet metal for roofing run-in shelters, or any other building material you may have that you think we could use!!

Halters and Tack
We are in need of halters, particularly draft horse size halters.  We are also in need of driving harnesses so we can see how well each draft rescue is trained.  This will ensure we  place each one in the right home.  We currently have one small draft sized harness but are in need of larger ones so we can "try out" all the rescues that come here.

Services

We are in great need of farrier services, as so far the drafts we have rescues have very overgrown feet.  If you are a farrier that works on drafts, we are in great need of your help.  

Handy man services needed to aid in building run-in shelters, fences, ect. 

Trailering, Printing S.A.D. posters, website design,  fundraising and awareness are all greatly needed by S.A.D.
